Review Milling Machine Parts and Components

CNC

When you are looking for CNC Milling machine parts and components there are a variety of places where you can find them. The best price and a lot of research can be found on the Internet at a variety of websites.

Depending on the type of CNC Milling machine you need the price can be steep but there are many small machines that can do the same job if you are looking at this as part of a small business or a hobby. Also, you can buy a machine to cut metal or wood, to do fancy scroll work or to do engraving on metals and other applications.

You can decide whether you will purchase a brand new machine or a used one. Most people do not suggest buying a used one because you aren’t sure what you are getting but buying other types of machines like CNC routers seem to be a good idea because of the cost.

All CNC Milling machines contain the following parts:

§ Axis — depending on the type of CNC milling machine it could have anywhere from one to six axis which will also determine the size and what it is supposed to do.

§ Column — the column is what travels along an axis that holds the part that mills or cuts.

§ Control panel — the part that holds the computer keyboard (sometimes small, other times large) where you program the G-Codes into the machine.

§ Cutting tool — the cutting tool is attached to the column and is the part that actually cuts the piece in the way that the operator specifies.

§ Spindle — the spindle holds the cutting tool in place.

Coolant Supply Tubes — Just like the name says these tubes are where coolant is pumped through to keep the tool lubricated.

§ Table — the table is the area that the workpiece will be attached to either using a clamp or a vacuum. This is where the workpiece will sit while being milled.

There are several different types of CNC Milling machines that can be found and they are small or large depending on what they do. Here are a few:

Vertical CNC mills have a vertical spindle axis. This means that the cutters that do the milling are held vertically in the spindle and they rotate on the spindle’s axis. In this type you can extend the spindle or the table to make drilling or plunge cuts. Bed mills and Turret mills fall into this category.
Horizontal CNC mills have the same type of table as vertical CNC mills but their cutters are mounted on an arbor that sits across the table horizontally.

Hobbyists will most likely use a box mill which is mounted to a bench and basically moves up and down. One thing thats really nice about a knee mill is that you have an x-y table that moves up and down the column. It can be adjusted with what is called a vertically adjustable knee. Many larger industries use the C-Frame mill because it is the most conducive for larger work. They are only vertically mobile and it used a fixed spindle head for that movement.

CNC Mill Overview

CNC

A machine tool that shapes metal and other types of solid materials is called a milling machine. A CNC milling machine does this automatically once a computer sets up the specifications for the machine, it uses a rotating cutter to work like a drill to cut the material.

There is a difference between a drill and a milling machine however. A milling machine will use a cutter that rotates around a spindle axis and the table by which the piece of work is attached. A drill only moves along an axis and can only drill in one direction. A milling machine can move sideways and in and out like a drill.

The CNC milling machine can be controlled evenly by what is put into the computer. Some milling machines work in a way that the table is moved while the cutter stays in one place and rotates. If you want a milling machine that can be operated manually versus with a computer then you will not want a CNC Milling Machine but just a Milling Machine.

A CNC Mill machine makes the operator’s work easier because it can do a number of operations like panning, rebating, drilling, routing and more. Often a cutting fluid has to be used at the site of the cut because it needs to keep the metal cool and the cut lubricated; also it is used to move the sluice out of the way.

In CNC Mill you will have a block of material that will be cut through by a rotating tool attached to the machine. You can actually move the piece in three dimensions all together so that you get the cut and shape that you want.

An operator can produce many different shapes with a CNC milling machine. For instance, if you have a 2D shape with an intricate pattern you can program the machine to do this pattern and repeat it as needed. The machine will also do 3D shapes, do different types of punches and even use a laser (usually a CNC Plasma Cutter).

Most metals and hard plastics are the best materials to use with a CNC milling machine because they can withstand the rigors of how the machine cuts. The pressure of the process doesn’t seem to be very good for softer materials as they can’t stand up to the pressure.

The CNC Mill machine is best used when you need a short run of materials to be produced. This process also needs only a software program to do the tooling and some type of jig to hold the work down while it is being cut. The machine is programmed using G-Codes for more precision.

There are a variety of things that CNC Milling Machines need to do today and are built so they can do a lot of things. As an example, Datron Dynamics sells a CNC milling machine that does all of the milling needs but also does industrial engraving. This machine can engrave on most metals including
Aluminum, graphite and stainless steel, but it can also engrave on ceramics and plastics.

The CNC Milling machine is a versatile machine and it can create many different parts while saving the company and the operator time and money.

Top Home Internet Business Mentor

Sunday, November 30th, 2008

In my own experience with internet marketing, using personal mentors has been invaluable.  To illustrate the importance of a mentor consider this:
Would you jump into the deep end of a pool without first having an experienced swimming instructor teach you the basics of water safety? Would you head for the expert slopes of Killington or Jackson Hole without first taking skiing lessons?  Of course not!  Getting the advice of those with first hand experience with the situations you will be facing is of paramount importance in life.  It will save you time, money, and aggravation.  The same things are true in business.  Mentorship is fundamentally important in trying to create a top home internet business.

Why Use A Mentor?

Why would a newbie enter the world of internet business, or any business for that matter, without seeking out the help and guidance of an experienced business mentor? A mentor has already tread where the newbie is seeking to tread, and failed where the newbie might be able to learn from the experience of another, and thus be spared the failure? I find that many people fail to realize that a business mentor is easier to find than one might have imagined, because they are equally motivated to find you.

Mentoring is a Win-Win

In the creation and everyday routines of a top home internet business, your relationship with a mentor is a win-win situation.  You are looking for the business person who is ahead of you, or above you, in your business.  You want to find someone who is willing to take you under their wings and teach you everything they know about the business and help you to create streams of income.  In return you can exchange links with them, and share comissions from your sales if it is network marketing.  Link exchanging should be done as much as possible with other associates as well.  You can refer other peoples links in any designated area of your website or in your blog, and ask that it be reciprocated on their websites.  The more backlinks you have pointing to your website the more valuable your page-rank will be with Google, Yahoo, and MSN.

Granted, for the newbie it might appear to be a lot of extra work to seek out that individual business person to be your mentor, but all things considered, this time and effort is an upfront investment in the health and wellness of your business!  Because of the win-win relationship the business mentor shares with you in internet marketing, you may find them anticipating your needs and questions before they even occur.  After all, the more successful you are, the more potential traffic and profits you can share with them.

Offer Youself As A Mentor

Be careful in your search for a mentor. Remember, in the relationship you wish to grow, there is a difference between a casual business advisor and the bona fide business mentor who will make it part of their business to see another business person succeed from the ground up. Having mentors is essential to your success in growing an internet business. Remember also once you have achieved a top home internet business don’t forget how you got there! Now you can offer to be a mentor and realize the benefits on the  other side of this win-win relationship.

3 Essential Things All Owners Must Know BEFORE Crate Training Puppies !!

Saturday, November 29th, 2008

Author: Dillion Fox

When it comes to owning a puppy, there’s a whole lot to think about as a new owner – vaccinations, diet, puppy obedience training, coming up with that ‘special’ name. And then, of course, there’s the housebreaking! In my opinion, there’s no better way to instil good housebreaking rules, keep your puppy (and your possessions!) safe and sound while you’re out, and give your puppy his own refuge than through crate training.

Crate training puppies is a great idea for a whole ‘raft’ of reasons, and is infinitely more preferable than keeping your puppy in the yard while you’re out. If you want to get your partnership with your new puppy off to a great start AND keep your sanity for the rest of your dog-owning life, then you need to read these……..

3 Essential Tips for Crate Training Puppies!

1. Crate Training Puppies is NOT Cruel

Often, when people mention crate training puppies, peoples’ first response is to decry the cruelty of keeping an animal ‘penned up’ in a cage. In all reality, though, crate training truly provides an instinctive “den” for your puppy. In the wild, a coyote or wolf pup spends virtually the first Ten weeks of its life in a safe lair its mother has prepared. When done properly, crate training puppies mimics this comforting lair as a safe place to sleep and escape from the outside world.

When you’re out of the house or you decide to go on vacation with your dog, the crate is a wonderful way to guarantee that both your home/car and your puppy stays safe and ‘in one piece’! What crate training is NOT, is keeping your dog in a cage for 8 hours a day with total neglect to it’s most basic needs. Cruelty is leaving a puppy in the backyard to possibly be stolen, eat something poisonous or be ‘open’ to nasty weather. Crate training is, in short, the very opposite!

2. Crate Training Puppies.. Goes Hand-in-Hand With Housebreaking!!

Forget those dirty puppy training pads, newspapers, and other housetraining products that may often hinder your puppy’s housetraining! Breeders, animal shelters, and other experts have been crate training puppies with great success for decades and view it as an excellent way to install the desired housetraining concepts.

So what makes it so effective? A puppy will naturally try to put off soiling his resting place. If left to roam the house, your puppy will eventually go into another room to relieve himself. If crated, your puppy will try and wait until he has an opportunity to leave his “den” and relieve himself elsewhere.

This doesn’t mean you should leave your puppy in his crate for hours and expect him to “hold it.” Puppies, like children, have tiny bladders and digestive systems. In order for crate training to be successful in the early weeks of your puppy’s life, he should be taken out every hour-directly from the crate to the yard. Another great benefit to crate training puppies, as it relates to housebreaking, is that if he DOES have an accident, a crate is much easier to wipe than, say, a Persian rug or that silk dress you mistakenly left on the floor!

3. Crate Training Puppies – It’s for Life!

Most people who are involved with crate training puppies find the technique to be such a useful tool that they use crating, in some form, for the rest of the dog’s life. When a dog grows up considering the crate to be his refuge, he’ll consider the crate to be his own little ‘safe haven’ for as long as it’s available to him.

Many full-grown dogs sleep in their crates (doors ajar) at night, and many owners still crate their dogs when they go out for the evening or take a brief day trip. Many dogs also travel very well (and safely!) by plane and car when they are securely in their crates. Most dogs would much rather be in their crate, in a climate-controlled home with some special toys and a soft blanket than they would be out in the yard where they might get rained on, snowed on, or otherwise left to fend for themselves.

Of course, you should never leave any dog crated for more than 3 or 4 hours without a break to relieve himself. If you must crate your dog or puppy for any lengthy period, give a neighbour, relative, or friend the key to your home so they can take your dog out for a quick walk.

As you can see, crate training puppies is about so much more than just putting your dog in a cage and calling it “crate training.” Dog crate training is your pet’s security, your home’s preservation, and an effective way to bring up a well housebroken dog without a ton of effort. When done properly, crate training puppies doesn’t just make for proud owners-it makes for proud owners of happy, well-balanced dogs.
